ABOUT
Answer
Laminate Flooring is a product consisting of 4 main components or layers. Each layer has a separate role in the appearance and durability of the parquet. These layers are from bottom to top: The bottom layer is the paper or melamine backing layer, known as the balancing layer, and it prevents the moisture caused by the floor by ensuring a balanced fit of the parquet. This core layer made of high density fiber board (HDF) is the main carrier layer that is water resistant. HDF is obtained by compressing wood fiber together with adhesive and resin. The decorative layer is the layer that gives the parquet the appearance of a real tree. This sheet is essentially a photograph, made by pressing several sheets of paper with melamine resin. Real colors and mother-of-pearl paint provide a deep decor and a real image. This decor layer starts with a large photo with wood texture and is divided into sections the size of a laminate board. Because the same photo is used for many boards and it is possible to create patterns again according to the condition of the boards. The top protective layer is the layer that resists abrasion. This layer is a coating layer made of transparent aluminum oxide. This coating layer can be of low or high gloss depending on consumer trends. This layer prevents moisture from penetrating the wood. The quality of this layer differs according to the brands. Designfloor uses the best quality overlay in the world.
